Ok I don't really have a title for this. This is also the first story i have ever written so please tell me how i can inprove.
It was a late cold winter night with the whirling wind wailing into the pitch black sky. Sara sat propped up on a pillow reading a fantasy book. She, like usual was reading late for she loved to read; it was her passion.
Sara glanced at the clock on her nightstand. “Two a.m.,” she whispered to herself while tucking a dark brown curl behind her ear.
She was turning the page of her book, when suddenly she heard the eerie sound of an animal in pain. Sara curiously peaked out the window only to see darkness. So she quickly put on a robe and slippers and quietly squeezed through her half opened door. When she passed by her parents bedroom door she held her breath. As she slowly edged down the stairs she side-stepped around known creaking floorboards.
When Sara entered the kitchen her deep hazel eyes glinted in the darkness as she searched for a flashlight in the drawer. As soon as she found a decent flashlight she sneakily crept outside and turned on the flashlight only to see a dark ominous looming figure standing in the blackness ahead. As she shook with fear her palms began to sweat she felt a prickle on the back of her neck.
“Who’s there?” She gasped realizing that she had forgotten to breath.
As the hooded figure began to slither forward like a snake she shook even more than before; her palms now drenched with sweat. All she heard was a staggered breathing while her mind raced as to what the figure was and what she should do.
“Do not be......frightened.......” The figure finally said with a hiss.
As the figure drew closer she saw that the cloaked figure had a hood shielding its face from her. “Wh wh who are you,” she stammered.
She felt the flashlight slip from her sweaty palms as the figure advanced now with a quicker pace. As she fumbled for the flashlight she could hear the dragging noise of the stranger advancing towards her. Suddenly she felt something hard hit the back of her head. Struggling to stay conscious the last thing she remembered was the hot breath of the mysterious cloaked figure......
